a lil' cakes stories to share.

over the last few months, there was just so many many birthdays, functions and events..

and cake is always the best thing for celebration.

a friend of mine celyn runs a bakery @ cafe@ cake shop..and of course all the cakes, brownies,cream puffs,and breads baked fresh from their factory ovens..

so instead of patronize other cake shops why not one that my friend owns.Thats not the ultimate factor...the ultimate is that the cakes are awesome..in terms of design, deco,taste and affordability...Especially the chocolate cakes..just rocks! Especially the chocolate lovers, is like love at 1st sight.It just melts your heart..like how it did to mine and my friends..

so far the cakes that i got from backofen received very very good compliments and remarks.In fact some of them went down to the shop to get cakes for birthdays and well as patronize the place for the brownies as well as creme puffs. they truly believe givin the best to their customers.

i aint gettin paid to do this publicity and promotin her shop..but i just reckon is sooo good that is only worthwhile to share and spread the goodness..

ICE KACANG MOMENTS

okay okay..i know you readers must be wonderin: where have i disappear and where have i been on earth that barely a single word from my blog last many weeks..i'm sorry..loads of happenings over those weeks..

Some enlightenin readin...

a week ago..me and some old buddies from high school was out on a dinner (beth,sau yan,saw hoon and jiun seng). along Teong and Merv joined us. ( yea beth's boy boy and mine)

we headed for seafood in subang village where the old airport terminal was.the food was alright..nothing much to shout about except the soup. Yum Yum..and as usual Saw Hoon finished up most of the dishes especially the crabs. Despite being the thinnest among us, it really does puzzled us where all the food go to..

durin' dinner, all of us was cravin' and talkin bout eatin durian (applies to those who loves durian).Of course there was a few who don't fancy it..but we still went ahead with the idea of durian eating after dinner (majority wins ^_^)

Teong suggested Kepong as there is many many durian stalls along the road to choose for.. (eyes wide open with glimpses of hope)..

Unfortunately, they were all closed due to Merdeka.Damnz!Only one stall was open, displaying pathetically a handful of durians..So we skipped the idea..and headed down the road for ice kacang.

A stall down the road serves great ice kacang with gula melaka..

Was truly satisfying..better than nothin' though..especially the stall auntie was so generous to add on the gula melaka.

all of us were brain freeze after that...the night didnt just end there.

Headed back to Merv's place to play board game (me,Beth,Saw Hoon and Merv). Beth brought over this new game none of us played before. "LIFE"..was pretty awesome game..you get to have a job, a paycheck, get married and have kids..etc..and see who is the richest among all, that's the WINNER.I won 1st game with monetary value $2.1million. Saw Hoon won the 2nd game with $2.75 million.So awesome.

and people actually take their time and effort to have the best presentation of the food that they cook..we are all fine art lovers..and we love what we see..and some food can be presented so pretty..much thoughts and creativity has put into it...

and desserts are just like "love at first sight" meltin into your mouth especially the hot fudge mousse cakes..melts i the mouth and warms the heart..

..too far..we have a nearer option..Bon Ton,#8 Jln Conlay..highly recommended especially you have a bad day at work..or just need somethin soothin, comfortin...there is nuthin like unwind the day and have a piece of mud cake...go try it out..it works its charm on me and so of my friends...*thumbs up*

it seems that many people are actually headin towards the "next phase in life"..

the big word with loads of commitment, a whole new world of "MARRIED"..

of course is such a great occasion especially when you see friends getting married to their high school sweetheart..aww so sweet..and also all the weddin dinner that you go to...when they show the slides,pictures of the couples, the courtin moments..just melt your heart away(ok,perhaps not all think so..but i do..) and you wish you too get a good weddin, good organizers for your wedding to do all that heart meltin stuffs..and of course a great hubby that you will be spending the next 365 days and more to come of the 365 days a year..girl will always be girls...

and the great wicked evil part is the part where the brides chi muis play the tricks and seek the bridgeroom to do all sorts of challenges and craziest things before gettin wed to the bride..aint that easy man guys..so be prepared..and good tip: bring along good buddies that will help ya out and sharedthe misery that you faces thru..you never know what you bout to face..not sure?

#01 if you hate durian, they will probably ask you to eat some..ewwws...especially those who cant take the smell..

#02 bread spread with different ingredient..of the sweet,sour,bitter,spicy..Spicy like wasabi, bitter like watermelon seeds.

#03 figurin out what is written on each disposable underwear...and each person wears on one of it with an alphabet to it and rearrange..and doin the mississippi butt..

#04 sing out of your long a love song...so make sure you know at least one to be sang on your big day..

..and of course and worst and far far worst than these listed..

now you know that girls are capable of being evil...*winks*

...did quite expect much for this year's bday after all i am turnin quarter of a century..nothing much to shout about...but that wasnt really the case..read on..

weeks ago have already planned to attend a friend's wedding (one of Merv's good friend actually)..so plan went on as usual.

got off work early..went home, showered,changed and waited for Merv to pick me up for jane's wedding dinner..(ok..more like he came and waited for me..girls will always be girls..)

went for the dinner downtown on a friday nite..to our surprise the traffic flow was awesome..smooth all the way..durin the drive down to the dinner, merv mention to me that "dear we might leave early from the dinner.." "huh?" puzzled me and as usual started askin the whys..

apparently Merv's friend Edmond workin in Spore for the last few years was back in town and wanted to meet up since they havent meet in ages..and Edmond insisted they should meet up tonight..Edmond-friend of Merv from high school..hmmph..well i didnt suspected much and believed Merv..although was alil surprise with the fact of this "sudden and unforeseen meet up"..

so we left dinner bout 10 pm and headed off to Alexis Bangsar..the place to meet Edmond..i think they just open the new Alexis in BSC(probably few months back...) pretty awesome set up..

well we went around BSC tryin to look for the place..found!1st floor..at the end corner..as we entered in Alexis, the waiter approached us "Reservations under Elzabeth?"..gave the funny look at Merv..hmmphh..

aww...man...and as i walk further down the restaurant, i saw all the familiar faces..friends from all places, the high school mates, uni mates, leo members..and SURPRISE SURPRISE...least expected this..was really sweet..and the sweetness adds on when they brought out the awesome cake..omigosh, was the most beautiful cake i ever had..and it looks so much like a notebook that i couldnt barely lay my hands on it, to cut em and eat it...but a cake still a cake..it has to be eaten *sobbs*..thanks to Allan & Nigel from Just Heavenly..if you want awesome lookin

...was really really sweet..and i bursted in tears..didnt expect this..and wouldn't have had happen if it was for the 2 partners in crime..my boyfriend and my best buddy..Merv + Beth..thanks a lot!!was really sweet and you both really made the day..and of course those who came...THANKS!!you guys were born-natural actors and actresses!

..esp Jason (whose car plat no 8682 my date of birth..calls me up as early at 8 am to chat but never wished me happy bday and i really thought he forgotten bout my bday, what a god bro!)

Jessie who text me to ask me out on Sat for lunch..bday lunch but never wish me...despite the bday being today!..but i know deep down in each of you (those who were present), you guys do cherish me..love me for who i am..and being my very dear friends for all these years...XOXOX...

quarter of a century

i know..i know those who have been readin my blogs is probably gonna murder me alive..
and i should be shot dead by now as i went on the disappearing act from my blog..havent really been able to update my blog frequently..*sorry people*

been super duper extremely caught up with work and all the other activities along the way..

well whats with the title of quarter of a century you probably wonder..well as of to date 8 june 2007..i am officially a quarter of a century old..*so proud to be*..yea not that young anymore despite me being all that hyper active and bouncin here and there like gummy bear *winks*

well nothing is gonna change the me..despite being older..

hmmph..celebratin 25 years of me..lets see what life has been and accomplish so far..

#01 still on my job..not the best but doing alright..earning relatively above the income bracket of those my age..so pretty proud of that..
#02 financially sustainin myself and my lifestyle..
#03 still in my dreams of pursuing my very paper cafe shop..work in progress
#04 initiated kids prog"sharin hearts,sharin hopes" which focus on kids welfare..very fulfillin mission..
#05 bought my very own car..;)
#06 still contributin to the community..still actively involved with Leo despite being in Leo for 10 years..thats a decade of service!
#07 keepin a better relationship with family members..people out there..family is still the closest to the heart..cherish them!
#08 meet the love of my life.. (i think and hope) who continuously compromisin, givin in to me, acceptin the difficult + stubborn me (never find anyone who "layan" me as much as he do)..amazes me at times the energy and patience he got there *thumbs up*
#09 still maintaining great friendship with the buddies from school..some even from kindergarden years..believe it or not...

i guess i would say i have achieve quite a lot for myself over the last few years... and the journey has only just begun...more to come..

..over the years many ups and downs has come and go..but i guess that as long as you hold true and strong to your values and your ground, nothing is impossible..just got to continue to believe and reach for your dreams..dreams are made of energy not imaginations!..i guess i am still the same person i was the year before, 5 years ago..same ole me..just perhaps a lil more taller, wider..wiser and a lil more tune down..

so yea..thats me...and stay tune and i promise i will and shall add in more new post ups in a week times...

in conjunction of the Earth Day,Zoo Negara with collaboration with TV3 is conducting a one day volunteerin job at the zoo..
Theme: Conserving the Natural Heritage at Zoo Negara
29 April 2007 (Sunday)7.00 am – 2.00 pm



They need bout 500 volunteers on that day, tasks will be assigned then.Activities involved would be area clean-up, river clean-up and tree & shrub planting..activities will take up about 3 hours.Once done you are FREE to ROAM the zoo

Is gonna be fun, afterall we don't get a lot of opportunity doin stuffs like that..so do sign up and be a volunteer...

So is a call for ACTION..

AERODYNAMIC

A modern Formula One car has almost as much in common with a jet fighter as it does with an ordinary road car. Race car wings operate on exactly the same principle as aircraft wings, only in reverse. Air flows at different speeds over the two sides of the wing (by having to travel different distances over its contours) and this creates a difference in pressure, a physical rule known as Bernoulli's Principle. As this pressure tries to balance, the wing tries to move in the direction of the low pressure. Planes use their wings to create lift, race cars use theirs to create downforce. A modern Formula One car is capable of developing 3.5 g lateral cornering force (three and a half times its own weight) thanks to aerodynamic downforce. That means that, theoretically, at high speeds they could drive upside down.

the talkabout weekend.."F1 Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang"..

never regarded myself as a huge fan of F1..of course i do know ..the Ferrari team, Williams, McLaren and some key players. Thats pretty much it. Not a constant worshipper, glued my butt on the couch whenever there is a F1 race.

last weekend was a real sought experience being at the Grand Prix...a very different feel all in together..

had free tickets to the race..thanks to Mervyn's cousin in law who gave those tickets to us..
