Be glad of life...

" because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at stars; to be satisfied with your possessions, but not contented with yourself until you have made the best of them; to despise nothing in the world except falsehood and meanness, and to fear nothing except cowardice; to be governed by your admiration rather than by your disgusts; to covet nothing that is your neighbour's except his kindness of heart and gentleness of manners; to think seldom of your enemies, often of your friends; to spend as much time as you can, with body and with spirit- these are little guideposts on the footpath of peace".

the gathering

"True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation."

~George Washington~

vow to friendship
through the years of growing pains,
our friendship continue to flourish and walk the extra miles..
never forgets to keep in touch despite the hectic schedule that me and you have..
of course along the way we grow apart and went on different paths
but eventually will meet again at the crossway
faith is what keeps us together
friendship rekindle, renew and giving more purpose to life..
reaches out for each other hands and touches each other hearts...

readers..pardon me as this is a pretty overdue post to be..
..it was during my visit down to spore back in Jan.

not quite sure whats going on in spore as each weekends most hotels are fully booked and getting a room in spore is not as easy as it used to be.you need to pre-booked like 3 weeks in advance and that also you are not entitled to a good deal on the room rates.over the short one year period, there has been an upsurge of 30% on the hotel room rates..oh boy..crazy sporean..the kiasuism has not killed them but spreading like an epidermic in the Hospitality side...*Sporean readers: Pardon me for being so discourteously blunt *
as usual making my regular visit down to spore for meetings..call up the hotels a week before my meeting schedule and as predicted and expected no rooms even hotels that charged up to SGD 300++ per night! What the heck!As i was browsin through i managed to find this place Hangout @ mt emily

decent looking place, reasonable priced and best of all the whole ikea lookin concept..bingo this is it!so made my booking through online..their website http://www.hangouthotels.com/

is one place that is well kept secret about..why?.to my amazed most sporean don't even know the existence of this place from what i gather through my converstation with my sporean dealers and customers ..

the place is cozy, the staffs are really friendly and nice too..the only draw backs of the place 1. no tv in the rooms (they have a shared community tv in level 2 where the hang out place is) 2. there is no broadband nor wireless connection in the room (the pc and internet is at level 2 as well, is FOC and 24 hours surfing)

breakfast is provided and the have great view of spore being on the hill top and there is a great park opposite the place..the mt emily park.

sure yes my next and future stay will be at hangout @ my emily.
oh yea..even if you do not stay at the hangout, is still a good place to dine and chill out..they have a great restaurant downstairs wild rocket at mount emily..awarded as one of spore best restaurant 2006..owned and run by Willin Low who is a lawyer-turned cook..so check it out the next time you head down to spore..if this is not convincing enought, check it out at their website www.wildrocket.com.sg... if you just want to drink and chill out check out the next door wild oats bars on the hill (WO). Great set up in colonial mansion surrounded by the garden and greens..

..as written a while ago we had this project "sharin hearts, sharin hopes"
recently we conducted our second project.while most people slept in till late hours on Sunday a group of us decided to do our good deeds and pay a visit to the orphanage home..
our visit to the 1st orphanage home Rumah Gembira situated at Tmn Billion,Cheras..
we decided to packed lunch over and have lunch + fellowship with the kids at the home..we had noodles as well as fried rice..the remarks on the food "thumbs up, good, yummy" of course.source of food: New Paris,SS2.

was quite happy despite all the hiccups, changes of dates, changes of time and lunch arrangements, many volunteers came...members from my leo club, the lions of cybercare as well as some of our friends...

community service @ washing plates both the elaines
..the goods that we brought to the homes..
thanks to the unilever people who helps us buy the stuffs..thanks to kok foong for bringin stuffs from ridsect, ambipur and kiwi..

marmalade cafe @ bangsar village II

marmalade cafe #2nd branch
11 march,sunday
an old uni mate called up last week.proposed to meet up over the weekend as it has been super overdue since the last we saw each each other. being happy that she finally called and make the attempt to meet up, how can i resist to such invitation. so we decided to check out this new cafe in bangsar village II which open a few months ago..is called marmalade on the 2nd floor. They do have one in Mt. Kiara but the one in Mt Kiara gives a lil "claustrophobic" feel.

the one here in bangsar village II offers a spacious set up.
...snaphot taken of the mural drawn on the selective walls at marmalade cafe..

the yummy lookin turkey quiche that was Karen ordered..

being 1st time to the outlet here in BV II i set my expectations low..to my amazed, there is a great wide selection of food from salads, pies, quiche, sandwishes, pizza, pasta and the awesome desserts..and yea they are famous for their carrot cake..but the rest of the cakes looks super duper yummy too...usually i got this great appetite for dessert..savin my stomach for the best indulgence..but i was just too full..so i only end up havin my cuppa chamomile lavender tea with two lil mini cupcakes..the cupcakes were really cute and yummy...

..desserts never fails me..
mini cupcakes strawberry and chocolate
accompanied by the soothing cuppa chamomile lavender tea and served with honey instead of the sugar sachets..

love the setting up of the ambience..looks very simple with its deco but gives the very cheery happy mood..good choice of place to go for lunch on a sunday..
it was a good place for meet up, a place to un-wind and of course good eating place to be..highly recommended for brunch/lunch doing

the recent one, second to the edition..is the one on my wrist written "ad posse ad esse" is a latin quote.thats says from possibility to actuality..i reckon is a damn good motivator and inspire me each time when i look at it.gives me the drive.making all things that is possible into reality.."the YES i can do it!".so far is doin its job..;)
